Metastorm Announces Record Revenues for Q2 2003

Continues to Lead BPM Market

COLUMBIA, MD – August 5, 2003 – Metastorm, a leading provider of Business Process Management (BPM) software for automating, managing and controlling processes, today announced earnings results for its second quarter ending June 30, 2003. The privately held company posted record software license revenues and record total revenues for the quarter and continued to grow market share at a rapid pace. Metastorm's total revenue for the first half of 2003 increased more than 23 percent over the same period last year. The company expects total year-over-year revenue growth to be at least 50 percent.

Metastorm's growth was driven by sales to both new and existing customers. The company added 33 new customers worldwide this quarter including Clyde & Company, Colorado Department of Corrections, the State of California Department of Health and Human Services Data Center, O2, and the Veteran's Administration. In addition, existing customers substantially expanding their use of Metastorm's BPM software included Children's National Medical Center, Chubb & Son, Emirates Airlines, London Underground, Pennie & Edmonds, and Shoosmiths.
